Every Re:Vault update, newest first, including small ones that never got an announcement. The latest three are also on What's new.
Each entry describes Re:Vault on the day it shipped, so older ones may not match how things work today. Some technical details are left out. For what we do with your data now, see Privacy.
Full changelog. Every Re:Vault update now has a home at /changelog, including small ones that never got an announcement. What's new still shows the last three and links to it, and Help and About link to it too.
Changed
A new start page: everything fits on one screen. The time and Vee are on the left, search and your shortcuts are in the middle, and This week is on the right. No more scrolling on a Chromebook.
This week is slimmer. It shows your week, one line about it and Start a 25 min focus, plus one note at a time: a backup reminder, the weekly goal question or a tip. Close one and the next one takes its place.
On phones you get one short column, with four shortcuts per row and Jump back in as one sideways row. This week waits behind its bar at the bottom. Tap the bar to open it.
All shortcuts is now called See all on the start page, so its name stays on one line.
The Community link moved to the bottom row, next to What is this? It stays there when you hide This week.
Fixed
Recent sites never show half a site. The ones that fit stay, and More opens your History.
Books in Jump back in show their first letter until the picture loads, instead of a blank tile.
More logo bumpers. 36 new logo bumpers, with new ones arriving every couple of weeks. You'll see fewer repeats too: Re:Vault remembers the ones you've seen lately and shows you others first.
Changed
A bumper you pin from its card now shows its name in Settings > Layout and start page > Logo bumpers, with an Unpin button.
A short heads-up now appears before an update that needs a moment, so it doesn't catch you by surprise.
Meet Vee, Re:Vault's new face. Vee takes the graduation cap's place everywhere, a different Vee greets you on your start page, and carry codes are on: move your study work to another device without signing in.
Added
Meet Vee. Re:Vault has a new logo and mascot, Vee. You'll see Vee in the toolbar, the tab icon, the Island, Desktop mode and at the top of Re:Vault's pages.
Logo bumpers. Your start page shows a Vee drawing above the greeting, a different one each visit. Press it to see its name and story, pin the one you like or show another. Choose Every visit, One a day, Pinned or Off in Settings > Layout and start page > Logo bumpers. Winter ones join on Nov 30. Bumpers stay hidden while Quick hide, Tab title and icon, Open inside about:blank or Hide addresses: Also on screen is on, or when Show the Re:Vault name is off, and Island Mode doesn't show them.
Carry codes. Move your study work and settings to another device or Re:Vault address without an account. In Settings > Account and backup > On this device > Carry code, press Make a code and add a 4-digit PIN if you want one. On the other device, press Use a code and type it in. Your work there is kept and combined with the code's. A code works for 7 days or 5 opens, whichever comes first.
Changed
New app icon. If you installed Re:Vault as an app, your device may say the app icon changed. That's Vee. Nothing else about the app changes, and your saves stay where they are.
Privacy
We can't read a carry code's copy. Your browser locks your work with the code before it leaves your device, and we only keep the locked copy. We don't keep your IP address with it, and nothing we keep names you. 5 wrong PINs delete it, and Delete this code now deletes it right away. The privacy page now has a Carry codes section and rows in both tables.
Accessibility
In High Contrast, and when your device forces its own colors, the start page shows Vee's plain face instead of the drawing, in the same space, so nothing on the page moves.
Know where your study work is saved and keep it safe, see what Re:Vault is in plain words, and two small reasons to study each school day: a streak that never counts weekends, and a garden everyone grows together.
Added
School-Day Streak. Your start page counts school days in a row with a finished focus session or 5 flashcards reviewed. Weekends, days you mark off and summer break never count against it. Every 5 school days you earn a freeze (up to 2) that fills in a missed day by itself. It stays on this device and in your backups, never shows to anyone else, and you can hide it in Settings > Study and focus > Study stats.
Start with everyone. Turn it on and your focus timer starts at :00 and :30, together with everyone else studying. Join a block that started up to 5 minutes ago, or wait for the next one. Nobody sees who you are. Settings > Study and focus > Focus timer.
Commons garden. A shared garden that grows from everyone's finished focus minutes each week. See how it's doing on your start page, in the Island and on the status page. Turn it off in Settings > Layout and start page.
Pin a tool. Use the pin on any card on the Tools page to put that tool first on your start page. Take it off from the tile's menu.
Repeating Calendar events. Add events to the month, one time or repeating every day, on weekdays, every week, every 2 weeks or every month, with an optional end date. Skip one day of a repeat or remove all of them. Events stay on your device and in your backups.
Where your saves live. Settings > Account and backup > On this device shows what's saved in this browser, which backups include it, how much room it takes, and what can erase it. Ask to keep my saves asks your browser not to clear Re:Vault when it runs low on space.
For IT and schools. A short page that explains what Re:Vault is, what it does, the addresses it uses and how to reach us. Find it from "What is this?" on your start page or at the bottom of Re:Vault's pages.
Accessibility statement. A page that says what works with a keyboard, touch, zoom and High Contrast, how we check it, what still has gaps, and how to tell us when something is hard to use. It's linked from Settings and Help.
Changed
Restore from a file adds instead of replacing. Your work in this browser is kept and combined with the file. Re:Vault tells you what the file has before it adds anything, and the same file twice adds nothing twice. Bringing back a cloud backup combines the same way.
Quick-hide settings moved. Tab title and icon, the quick hide key, about:blank, Hide addresses and "Always ask before leaving" are now in Settings > Privacy and safety > Advanced: quick-hide, folded closed. Your choices are kept, and search still finds them. "Warn before closing" in Browsing and tabs now only asks when 2 or more tabs are open.
Offline start page. When you're offline, the start page says your study tools still work and hides the parts that need a connection until it's back.
Clear site data keeps your files. It no longer removes music you added, GIF and video wallpapers, Linux machines, Study Helper chats or desktop files. A new row, Delete my uploads and files, removes those when you want to.
Welcome back. If this browser was cleared and you're signed in with a backup, Re:Vault offers to bring your saves back, once. Signed out, once you have real work saved, the start page sometimes reminds you to download a save file.
The About and Tools pages say it plainly: flashcards and study mode are free, with no daily limits.
Opening the tool you pinned to the start page counts toward your Quests, like opening it from Tools.
Fixed
"Not saved" instead of silence. If your browser is out of space, Notes, Flashcards, Markdown, To-do and Citations say "Not saved" next to what you're typing, so you know to free up room.
Calendar's Add days and Days between could be a day off in US time zones. They now count from your own day.
Privacy
Study Helper's pass stays on your device. Cloud backups no longer include the Study Helper's daily pass, its downloaded models or its speed check. Copies already saved on our server have been cleaned too.
How long we keep things. The privacy page has one table for every kind of data: where it's kept, how long, and how to delete it.
The Commons garden only adds your finished focus minutes to one weekly total. No names, and nothing about your browser is kept on our server. Turning it off stops sending minutes.
The School-Day Streak and Calendar events are never sent anywhere except in a backup you make.
Accessibility
The For IT and schools page and the accessibility statement always show plain text, even with Hide addresses at its strongest level, so screen readers can read them.
The quick-hide group opens with Enter or Space and opens by itself when a link or search leads to one of its settings.
Videos play again, worksheets get cover art, a new support email, and an easier way into the beta.
Added
Beta in Settings. If your account is in the beta, Settings > Account and backup has a Beta row with an Open beta button. Search Settings for beta, preview or test new features to find it. Everyone else won't see it.
Fixed
Videos play again. Sites that stream with video.js or hls.js (including DASH and HLS) play on Standard and Standard (v1) again, and on Firefox too.
Changed
Worksheets have their own cover art.
New support email: hello@ajhsvault.org. It's on the Help, About, Privacy and Terms pages, the status page, and the Study Hall notice for appeals. The old address is no longer listed.
Re:Vault works better on iPad, iPhone and Safari, and a few pages that used to stall now load.
Added
Linux machines in Safari. The Debian machines can now start in Safari on an iPad or Mac when Linux is open in its own tab. Inside a Re:Vault tab, Linux offers to open its own tab for them.
Find in page from the tab menu. Long-press a tab (or right-click it) and pick Find in page, so you can search a page without a keyboard.
Open in Safari note. If you open Re:Vault inside another app (Discord, Instagram, TikTok and others), a note shows how to open it in your real browser, where everything works. Copy the link or close the note.
Keep your saves in Safari. Safari deletes what a site saved after 7 days away. Once, after you've used Re:Vault on 3 different days, a note shows how to keep your stuff: add Re:Vault to your Home Screen, or sign in to back it up.
419 more games in Books.
Changed
Long-press works on iPad. Long-press a toolbar button (Read Aloud, Highlighter, Music and others) for its menu: unpin, move, turn off or settings. Long-press on a tab opens the tab menu instead of starting a drag.
On iPhone and iPad, Re:Vault fits the screen between Safari's bars and stays clear of the notch and the home bar.
Tapping into the address bar, search boxes and tool fields on iPhone and iPad no longer zooms the page in.
A game that needs features Safari doesn't have now opens in your tab with a short note, instead of a new tab that couldn't run it either.
Fixed
The school bell chime plays in Safari (tap anywhere once after setting a bell).
Copy buttons in the tools work in more browsers.
Some sites showed a Re:Vault "page not found" for a picture, script or live connection on Standard (v1) and Compatible. Those now load from the site itself, and live connections work on every engine.
After Re:Vault switched your connection, a page could still start loading on the old one and stall. It now waits for the switch.
A stuck connection is noticed and swapped within about 30 seconds instead of 40.
Study with friends: share Re:Vault, invite a friend to a study room, and race to type today's passage. Flashcards can now come straight from Quizlet or Anki, Books has categories, and your username is easy to find.
Added
Your username in Settings. Settings > Account and backup now shows "Username: your name" with a Copy button, and you can pick or change your public username right there. It is the name people see in Study Hall, community posts and the leaderboard. Search Settings for "username" to jump to it. Island Mode's You panel shows it too.
Books has categories now. Pick Action, Puzzle, Racing, Strategy and more at the top of Books to see just those games; each one shows how many games it has. Re:Vault remembers your pick next time. Top rated still works inside a category.
126 new games in Books, each with its own category.
Share Re:Vault. Send a friend a link, show them a QR code, or use your device's own share menu. Find it in Settings > Account and backup, the toolbar (the More tray on phones), Island Mode's You panel, or the desktop's start menu.
Invite a friend to a study room. In Study Hall, make a link to Math, Science, English, Quiet Focus or Hangout. A link works for 24 hours and up to 5 people. Your friend still signs in and agrees to the rules like everyone else.
What's new. After an update, a small note on your start page (a bubble in Island Mode) links to a page with what changed. Turn it off in Settings > Advanced > Updates.
Install Re:Vault. After you've used Re:Vault on 3 different days, it may offer to install itself so it sits on your shelf like an app. It asks at most 3 times, a week apart, and never while you're focusing, in Study Hall or in incognito. You can turn it off in Settings > Advanced > Updates.
Studying now. "About N people are studying right now" on your start page and in the Island's Study panel. It counts people with a focus timer running, rounded to the nearest 5, and only shows at 10 or more. Hide it in Settings > Layout and start page.
Type Race. A new tool with one short passage a day from classic stories and books, the same for everyone. See your speed and accuracy, and share a line like "Type Race #1: 62 wpm, 97% accuracy". Your best score for the day stays on your device.
Import flashcards from Quizlet and Anki. In Flashcards, pick a format when you paste: a Quizlet export (any separator) or an Anki "Notes in Plain Text" export. Each format shows how to export it and counts your cards as you paste.
ACPI option for Linux machines. A new checkbox in a machine's settings that Windows Vista, 7, 8 and 10 need to boot (they can be slow). It is off by default, so your existing machines stay as they were.
Loading screen setting. Turn off the loading screen to see pages appear as they load. The address bar still shows progress. Find it in Settings > Browsing and tabs.
Changed
Flash games load from Re:Vault itself. Nearly every Flash game in Books now gets its player and game files from Re:Vault instead of other sites, so they keep working when those sites are down.
In Books, the sort button that used to say "All" now says "A to Z", since "All" is now a category.
Sign out asks in the page instead of with a browser pop-up.
The privacy page is easier to read, with more space between paragraphs.
Fixed
Big flashcard pastes could give two cards the same id, so deleting one card could delete another. New cards get ids that never repeat, and Re:Vault repairs any repeats when it opens your decks.
Sending a note to the Study Helper now shows you the text first, and adds it only after you pick "Attach it". Only the Notes tab can hand text to the Helper.
The What's new note and the Studying now line no longer push the start page down while it loads.
Privacy
Study room invite codes and sign-in codes are taken out of the page address right away, before Google Analytics starts, so they never show up in analytics. Invite codes are kept out of server logs too.
For an invite, Re:Vault keeps only a scrambled form of the code, the room, who made it and how many times it was used, never who used it. Old invites are deleted a day after they end.
Studying now adds one yes or no to the existing online count: whether a focus timer is running. Only the rounded total is ever shown.
Settings shows only your public username, never your account ID, email address or sign-in codes.
A little Halloween for your study space, this week only (October 26 through November 1).
Added
Spooky theme. Dark plum, parchment-colored text and a soft pumpkin glow. Find it in the new Seasonal group of the theme picker, or pick the Spooky Week look in Settings to get the theme, a pumpkin accent and the wallpaper all at once.
Harvest Moon wallpaper. A full moon, bats and glowing pumpkins on a quiet night, in the wallpaper gallery.
Spooky Week 2026 collectible. Open any study tool during the week to collect it in Quests. It gets a pumpkin badge and stays in your Quests for good once you have it.
All three are only offered this week. If you are using the theme or wallpaper when the week ends, they stay as they are until you change them.
Fixed
Signing in with a Discord code works again on every Re:Vault address.
A brand new way to use Re:Vault, a Settings page you can actually find things in, and supporter passes that keep Re:Vault free without outside ads.
Added
Island Mode. A third layout next to Classic and Desktop. With no page open you see only your wallpaper and one small island in the middle. Everything lives in it: search, your tabs, the clock and focus timer, music, the class bell, Study Hall and your settings. When you open a page the island moves to a thin strip at the top and changes to fit what you're doing. Pick it in Settings > Layout and start page, or in the welcome when you first open Re:Vault.
Restore your tabs. After a crash, a reload or a closed window, Re:Vault offers "Restore N tabs" instead of losing them. Saved tabs stay on your device only, never in a cloud backup, and nothing is saved while incognito is on.
High Contrast look. Strong black, white and yellow, a very readable font and no wallpaper. "Match system" picks it when your device asks for more contrast, and Windows High Contrast is supported too.
Extension buttons in the toolbar. Page tools you turn on (like Read Aloud or Dark Web Pages) get their own button next to the address bar. You can pin others, unpin any, and change the order.
Supporter passes (opening soon). Optional passes for people who want to help keep Re:Vault running: Month ($3), Semester ($10), School Year ($20), and a Founding Supporter pass ($35, for as long as Re:Vault runs) until November 30. Patron passes and gift codes too. Passes never renew by themselves. A pass adds extras like a Study Hall badge and name color (only if you turn it on), the Gilded Ink look, up to 10 saved wallpapers, and no ad cards. Everything you need to study stays free, forever, including the "Show ads" switch. Current Discord supporters get a free Semester Pass. See the Supporter page or Settings > Account and backup.
Changed
New Settings. Nine sections grouped by what you're trying to do, with a search box that understands plain sentences like "turn off ads" or "make the text bigger". Options that depend on a switch now show right under it as soon as you turn it on. Links can open one exact setting.
The connection dot is now a status button in the toolbar. It shows a different shape for each state, says "Reconnecting" in words when something is wrong, and opens a small panel where you can reload a page with another engine.
Smarter Read Aloud. It reads the main part of the page, one sentence at a time, highlights where it is, starts wherever you pick, and remembers where you stopped. Alt+R starts and stops it. Voices come from your device unless you allow online voices.
Fonts now come from Re:Vault itself, so pages no longer ask Google Fonts for them.
Privacy
Fonts no longer load from Google on Re:Vault's own pages.
Saved tabs never leave your device. Clear history also forgets where Read Aloud stopped and the saved site icons.
Supporter records keep only what a receipt needs. Payments go through Cash App or Apple Cash with an order code; Re:Vault never sees card details.
Closed a way pages you open could connect on their own, which some ad scripts used. Compatible no longer supports WebSocketStream (plain WebSocket still works on every engine).
Pages that fail to load now fix themselves more often, and when they can't, Re:Vault tells you why.
Changed
Smarter page recovery. When a site doesn't load, Re:Vault now tries another way by itself (another engine or connection) before it shows an error. What worked is remembered for that site on your device for a week, so the next visit starts the right way. Your Settings are never changed.
One clear error card. It says what actually happened in plain words: the site doesn't exist, the site is down or not answering, the site's security certificate is broken, or a form didn't go through. "Details for helpers" has what a helper needs when you ask for help on Discord.
Slow sites get a "still loading" note instead of an error, and Re:Vault keeps waiting.
When Re:Vault itself restarts or has connection trouble, open pages say "Reconnecting to Re:Vault" and load by themselves once it's back. The connection dot turns amber while it waits.
Fixed
Switching the connection from Stable to Fast could leave every page loading forever.
When a link inside a site failed, "Try again" went back to the site's start page instead of the page that failed.
A Re:Vault restart or a problem on our side was shown as "this site is down".
A page opened in its own browser tab (a popup, or Open in new tab) after the Re:Vault tab was closed or reloaded could stay blank. It now opens inside Re:Vault.
A form that may already have reached the site is never sent a second time by itself.
Privacy
The per-site memory stays on your device under scrambled names. Nothing is saved in incognito or with history off, and Clear history removes it.
To see how well recovery works, Re:Vault counts only what kind of problem happened and how it ended (for example "site down, fixed by itself"). Never the site, the address or who you are.
Study Hall is ready for its first members, more ways to sign in, and new looks.
Re:Vault is the 11th edition of AJH's Vault, so version numbers now start with 11.
Added
Study Hall beta. A moderated place to study with other students. It opens first to supporters and to Discord members at level 4 or higher, up to 300 people, and grows from there. The opening date will be announced on Discord.
Rooms for Math, Science, English, Quiet Focus and Hangout, plus Announcements. Each room has pinned Re:Vault tools for that subject.
A shared focus timer that the whole room runs together, and quiet check-ins in Quiet Focus.
Polls (nobody's vote is ever shown by name, and results stay hidden until 3 people vote) and a question of the day.
Your status shows Online, the room you're in, or Focusing. You can turn this off in Study Hall settings.
A badge on the Study Hall tile when someone mentions you.
Quiet hours from 10 pm to 6 am Eastern: Hangout becomes read-only and new accounts can only read. Study rooms stay open.
Download my data and Delete my data in Study Hall settings.
More ways to sign in. Discord sign-in is on from launch day, including a one-time code. Email sign-in links and passkeys (your Chromebook's PIN or fingerprint) follow over the next few days. Google works as before, and you can add more than one way to the same account in Settings.
New looks: Zen and Zen Paper. A calm dark look and a light paper one. Look previews in Settings and the welcome now show each look's real colors.
All shortcuts folder on the start page, so a shortcut you remove is easy to add back.
Desktop mode uses the Zen fonts and its clock matches the start page.
Changed
Bedazzled Vault is calmer and easier to read.
Accessibility. Everything works from the keyboard with a visible focus ring, there is a "Skip to content" link, screen readers get proper names and announcements, pages stay usable at 400% zoom, and Chromebook touchscreens work in both laptop and tablet mode. Tabs close with the Delete key and move with Ctrl+Shift+arrows.
The privacy page is rewritten in plain English for students and parents, and says exactly what Study Hall keeps and for how long.
Fixed
Live features inside some sites (chats, live scores, multiplayer) now connect on the Standard engine. Their connection was being pointed back at Re:Vault instead of the site.
Safety
Study Hall blocks strong swearing, slurs and sexual words, even when they're disguised with numbers, spaces or look-alike letters. A blocked message is never posted. You see a short note and wait 5 seconds; there are no strikes or bans for it. Mild words like "damn" are fine.
Messages that look like an adult trying to move a student somewhere private are held until a moderator checks them.
No private messages between strangers. Links to a Re:Vault tab are refused (share the site's own link instead).
You enter your age once. Study Hall is for ages 13 and up.
Messages are deleted after 30 days. Moderators keep what they need for a report for longer, and the privacy page says how long.
Privacy
Re:Vault now counts visits itself, without cookies and without storing who you are: daily totals, which features get used, rough location from the connection, and page speed. It runs next to Google Analytics for now. The privacy page says what's on today.
Privacy fixes, and forms, uploads and live features that work on the Server connection.
Privacy
Site icons stay on your device. Favorites, history and Worksheets tiles used to ask outside icon services (DuckDuckGo and Google) for each saved site's icon, which told them which sites you had saved. Tiles now never fetch an icon. They reuse the icon a site showed in your tab, saved on your device, or show a colored letter instead. Incognito mode and turning off "Keep history" save no icons, and clearing your history clears them too.
Search suggestions and server connections no longer put what you type in a web address. Suggestions are now sent inside the request instead of in its address, and the server connection says which site to open in its first message. Web addresses usually end up in server logs, so this keeps your searches and the sites you open out of them.
Fixed
react.dev and other sites that send an early "preview" response now load on the Server connection.
Forms and uploads work on the Server connection. Sign-in forms, comments and file uploads were sent empty when a page used it. They now go through.
Live chat and other real-time features on the server connection no longer lose the first message a page sends.
Large downloads on the Server connection run more smoothly when your connection is slower than the site.
Pages that redirect after a few seconds now stay in your Re:Vault tab.
Pages you open stay inside Re:Vault more reliably. We closed several ways a website could connect on its own.
Changed
Re:Vault's own ad cards now have an X to hide them for the day.
Security
Websites you open aren't fully separated from your account yet.
A new automatic check loads real sites on each engine. We run it before each release.
Small, labeled ads from Re:Vault itself, with an off switch.
Added
Re:Vault's own ads. The start page, the library and the desktop can show one small card from Re:Vault itself, like an invite to our Discord community or a note about supporter perks. There are no outside ad networks: no ad company code runs on Re:Vault, and nothing about you or the sites you open is shared with anyone.
Every ad is labeled "Ad" and has a Report button. Reports go straight to the Re:Vault team.
"Show ads" switch in Settings, Focus & privacy. Turn it off and Re:Vault loads no ad code at all. Ads also wait until you have closed the welcome card and started using the page.
"Open in its own window" for Linux, as a backup. If the Debian terminal or desktop ever can't start inside a tab, Linux now offers a button to open it in its own window instead of just failing. Re:Vault's own ads don't change anything here: Linux keeps running in the tab.
Changed
You stay signed in as long as you use Re:Vault at least once a week.
The Discord community link shows up once on the start page, not twice.
The privacy page explains how ads work on Re:Vault.
Fixed
Flashcards: the Add button works again when you click or tap it. Before, only pressing Enter added a card.
If part of Re:Vault's connection stops, it now restarts on its own within seconds.
Privacy
Re:Vault only counts how many times an ad spot was shown, seen or reported. Those counts carry no names, accounts or other identifiers.
A report keeps only the reason you picked, your note if you wrote one (emails, phone numbers and links are removed), and a rough device type like "ChromeOS / Chrome 140".
Sign out everywhere. Settings > Account can end your session on every device at once, if you ever think someone else has your sign-in.
Shorter sign-ins. New sign-ins last 7 days instead of 30. Nobody gets signed out today; older sign-ins simply run out on their own schedule.
Less personal data kept. Your account no longer stores or shows your email address.
Backups and save files never carry your sign-in. Exports, imports and cloud backups leave it out, and it was removed from backups already stored.
Tighter rules inside Re:Vault. Pages you open can no longer change Re:Vault's settings, connection or saved files behind the scenes, and links in Settings only accept safe addresses or ones you confirm.
Changed
Calmer status page. Engine health ignores brief blips, so the status page only reports real trouble.
New first visit. A small welcome card with three quick picks (a look, your start page, and desktop mode). It never covers the page or interrupts typing.
Welcome back and Jump back in. The start page greets you, and picks up your open tasks, your last flashcard deck, recent tools and books.
This week card. Study days, focus time, cards and tasks done, an optional weekly goal, a one-tap 25 minute focus, a daily study tip and a Monday recap. Plus a quiet Community link.
Milestones in Quests for real study (study days, focus sessions, cards known, tasks, books), private to your device.
Focus sessions in the Pomodoro timer, with optional focus sounds.
Google sign-in with cloud backup, so your setup follows you.
Covers for 70 books that used to show a broken image.
Changed
A new Standard engine. The one before it stays available as Standard (v1) in Settings. If the new engine can't open a page, Re:Vault switches to v1 for you automatically.
The connection dot speaks the same language as Settings, and tells you when it switched something automatically.
Much faster under load. Pages are compressed once instead of on every visit, and connections are routed more efficiently.
More reliable connections, with an automatic server fallback.
Fixed
A broken game (You Are Bezos) was removed from the library.
Many smaller fixes to start-up, updates and offline loading.
Privacy
Server logs no longer record which sites anyone opens or what they type into search suggestions, and older logs were cleaned.
Linux in Re:Vault. Open "Linux" from the new tab page and choose the classic browser-in-browser experience or WebOS. Available machines: Alpine Linux (v86, 256 MB), Debian (CheerpX terminal) and an Alpine desktop (CheerpX). They load like a normal operating system; follow along in the console, or use the console on its own.
A full desktop environment (WebOS). Early, but it already runs apps, a terminal and a taskbar, with a Books app, a boot screen that matches your Re:Vault look, and "Exit desktop mode".
Send files to the machine, and your Linux disk saves automatically.
Animated wallpapers: GIF, MP4 and WebM uploads or video links.
The "build it your way" update. Re:Vault is now modular: most features are add-ons you switch on and off, so you can assemble the browser exactly how you want it.
Added
Extensions system. A real module registry with a puzzle-piece button in the toolbar that opens an Extensions panel: toggle any add-on on or off, and run per-page quick actions. Extensions are grouped into three kinds:
Browsing (enforced for every site you open): Ad Blocker, Bandwidth Saver.
Page tools (work on the sites you open): DevTools (full console / elements / network, powered by Eruda), Dark Web Pages (force dark mode on bright sites), Read Aloud (text-to-speech for the page or your selection), Highlighter (select text to highlight it), Picture-in-Picture (pop a video into a floating window).
Workspace (study features, now modular): Class Bell, Background Music, Command Palette, Search Suggestions.
Incognito indicator in the toolbar - a clear marker when private mode is on, one click to turn it off.
Jump back in on the new-tab page - your recently opened library books, one tap to resume.
Fixed
Status page: "Back to Re:Vault" no longer opens a second copy of the browser inside a tab.
Status link now appears in the footer of every page and opens correctly from in-app pages (it previously did nothing on some of them).
Re:Vault addresses: fixed a server issue that stopped some of them from loading securely.
Versioning
Re:Vault now shows a technical version on the About page: the version number, the build and the release channel.
Changed
Former built-in features (class bell, background music, command palette, search suggestions) are now extensions you can turn off if you don't want them. Your existing settings carry over unchanged.
Behind the scenes: performance, stability, and housekeeping improvements on the server.
